Psa. 116:7-9 (KJV) Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
Sometimes, in fact, most times, you have to remind, and actually COMMAND your soul to BE STILL. This is because ever since the spirit of man got disconnected from God at the event of the fall, man’s soul also got detached and became subject to the prince of this world, who rules with enticing but burdensome pressures from the world outside.
The harsh realities of life can be disturbing. With simple or complicated issues like traffic jam, terrorism, work pressure, conflict, poverty, ill-health, scarcity, financial crisis, relationship issues and the likes, more often than not, you may find your mind unsettled in response to happenings in the world around.
Nevertheless, anyone who professes Christ has been liberated from the tutelage of the prince of this world. He has a choice as regards whom to yield his mind to: the prince of this world who rules with pressures from outside, or the Greater One who reigns with peace via His words on the inside.
Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Psa. 4:4 (KJV)
You have the ability to map out the right course for your mind today and always. It is your responsibility to speak to your soul and bring it to that peaceful status, which complies with God’s design by His words.
Sometimes, in fact, most times, you have to remind, actually COMMAND your soul to BE STILL.
Is your mind unsettled today? Please command your day by saying like the psalmist, “Be Still my soul. Enter into your rest. For the Lord has dealt bountifully with thee…”
As you do, may the Peace of God which passes all understanding rule, reign and garrison you heart and soul today and always in Jesus’ name. (Phil. 4:7)
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psa. 46:10
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. Psa. 116:7 (KJV)
Dear Lord, as I set my soul to choose Your rest above the turmoils of this world, please grant that Your power be released to stir up confident assurance from deep within, and to effect desired changes in my circumstances. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
