2Pet.1:5-8 (KJV) …giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There is much more to the Christian life than praying, reading the Bible or even belonging to a Church. We must keep reviewing our faith level from time to time.
And this is not just about growing. Rather, it’s more about what we are becoming for example,
Are we progressing, advancing and changing for the better?
Let’s take this comparison with the life cycle of a butterfly as an analogy.
Is the ‘egg’ (I.e. Life’s outcomes) transforming into larva, pupa and the butterfly; or is the caterpillar just getting fatter and refusing to evolve into its next level?
Is your faith evolving? That’s exactly what we’re talking about.
The word of God advices that we need to spice up our faith as necessary for it to evolve. Can you list the attributes mentioned?
Lord, now I know that it takes more than mere faith to be fruitful in the Christian walk. Please help me to add the necessary ingredient to my faith walk so that I may be fruitful and productive, evolving from glory to glory in Your name. Amen!
