Jn 6:7 (KJV) Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
Having established in our previous post that You Weren’t Born Poor; and having also settled that the answer to your destiny is somewhere within your reach, and might very well be lying right under your skin, it’s time to stop getting concerned about how insignificant what you do have is as at now and to start thinking seriously about how to make it better.
In other words, you should be more concerned about how to make it more valuable, more relevant and more visible to the world around you!
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? John 9 (KJV)
In John’s account of the feeding of the five thousand as outlined in John 6:1-14 and summarized in today’s texts, there was an obvious deficit as the demand far outweighed the five barley loaves and two fishes which was available.
However, while the disciples asked, “what are these among so many?” Jesus looked up to heaven, gave thanks and broke the bread.
It seemed so small, but He broke and shared it still! Afterwards a world record was set out of something which initially seemed so little compared with the demands on it!
You weren’t born poor. The seed to greatness is within you!
Having acknowledged whatever gift you are endowed with, whatever you are good at doing, or whatever opportunity life has place around you, the next thing to do is to worry less about how insignificant it seems today to focus more on how to make it more valuable, more relevant and more visible to the world around you!
That can only happen if like the little lad, you place it in the hands of Jesus today. Yield it all to Him and ask for wisdom and innovation.
Ask Him to give credence to your gifts and plant you in places where there will be great demands on them, for example, employment and business opportunities which are relevant to your destiny- those that will require you to do what you’re good at …
Ask Him to help you maximize every little thing you have going well for you be it a good background, sound education, connections, whatever they may be.
Shortly, you will be so built up in things pertaining to your destiny seamlessly!
Lord, now I know that no gift You have given me, and nothing I have working for me is too small or insignificant for You to use. For this I am grateful.
Please grant dear Lord that I be planted in places relevant to my destiny, that there might be a demand on my gifts and that I might maximize every good thing you have endowed me with till they shine through every obscurity and bring me to limelight to Your glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
