Luk 15:20-24 (KJV) And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
The man who repents from his sins, summons the courage to retrace his steps back to God and embraces the grace to turn from his wicked ways will likely end up better off than he was ever before he transgressed.
The time to come back home is NOW.
If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2Ch 7:13-14 (KJV)
Lord, Your word says that if I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse me (1Jh.1:9), please grant me the grace not to keep moving further away when I stray but to humbly retrace my steps to You for You are faithful to abundantly pardon. Amen.
