1Co 10:10 (GW) Don’t complain as some of them did. The angel of death destroyed them.

Welcome to #WinningWithPeople Series!

At the ABC Auto Parts Company employees work in teams. When a line doesn’t have enough parts, the workers are sent to other lines to prevent redundancy.

Shade is a complainer. She whines all the time.

She is sent to a new line for the day. Ade welcomes her with a warm smile and says, “We’re glad to have you on our team today. We like having people from other departments.”

“This isn’t what I was hired to do.” Shade answers, “I’m only here because I have to be!”

Complainers are a drain on the people they work and live with! Moreover, the complaining attitude will stop the flow of favour towards you both from God and men!

Ade tries to explain the work on the line. But every time he says something, Shade whines. Ade decides to make the best of it.

At break time, several other team members mentioned to Ade about how much Shade nags.

Later in the day, the line stops while more parts are brought in. Shade whines, “This is stupid! Why can’t management get it right? I’d rather be paid to do nothing!”

When the line gets up and running again, Shade whines that she was just getting comfortable,
“…and there’s only an hour and a half left in the day anyway!”

Ade tells her she is needed back on the line because a customer is waiting for an order. Tomorrow, he says, she will go back to her own department and do her own job.

The next day, Shade finds herself in Ade’s team again. She starts whining right away!

Complainers never obtain and grumblers are always grounded. The more you complain, the less you see the opportunities around.

A day later, Ade was promoted while Shade was demoted and replaced. It was all a test after all and she failed it big time!

Complainers! They are everywhere. Are you one of them? Do you complain about everything and anything? How much do you complain in a day?

Complainers are a drain on the people they work and live with! Moreover, the complaining attitude will stop the flow of favour towards you both from God and men!

There’s always something to rejoice about and when you have the attitude of rejoicing and gratitude to God, people will always love to help you and many will favour your cause. With a joyful attitude, you will always win with people around you.

Complainers never obtain and grumblers are always grounded. The more you complain, the less you see the opportunities around.

Stop seeing problems in every situation. Learn to see the opportunities in every problem. For people who don’t complain, there’s always an opportunity in every problem. David, for example, saw Goliath as a fish too big to miss rather than a problem too big to confront.

The next time you are tempted to complain, open your mouth and give thanks to God for the very reason you want to complain instead. By so doing, you will become a delight to people around you shortly!

Prayer:

Lord, You only can tame my heart from fretting and my tongue from complaining.

Please teach my heart and mouth to always express Your praise so I may be a child in whom You are well pleased and a delight to everyone in my life to Your glory. Amen.
