Day 28: Stop Short-Changing Yourself

Gen.11.31-32 (AMP) And Terah…went forth…to go… into the land of Canaan; but when they got to Haran, they settled there….and Terah died in Haran.

Many people today are short-changed regarding their God given dreams. They have abandoned the project called “the vision” for their lives and settled for far less than what God originally intended, Are you one of them?

Due to recent economic and political instability in many countries, our generation has been more disappointed- with their hopes more dashed than any other in history. This is especially true in our part of the globe where the level of corruption has dammed the flow of resources from affecting any tangible development.

Consequently, many have short-changed their destinies and settled for less as regards their life’s dreams.

It’s truly hard to dream at the face of obviously slim chances of success but once there is a will, God causes a way to appear…

For instance, responding to the odds against them, people are now finding excuses and justifications to become

-Holders of O’ Level Certificates instead of PhD’s
-Primary school teachers instead of professors
-Technicians instead of engineers
-Local government chairmen instead of Governors and Presidents!

Most people take the part of least resistance in their careers and settle for well paying jobs instead of sticking out their necks to establish businesses that would with patience grow to sustain them, many others, as well as enrich the nation’s economy in the nearest future.

Hence, they end up employees and managers instead of CEOs and Chairmen!

It’s time to awake from our slumber and ask God to restore our vision and to re-ignite our passions for destiny!

It’s truly hard to dream at the face of obviously slim chances of success but once there is a will, God causes a way to appear…

The word of God says,

“For surely there is a latter end (a future and a reward), and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off.” Prov. 23:18 (AMP).

Now, whose report would you believe?

Prayer:

Lord, how I have settled for less and allowed myself to be sbort-changed by taking my cues from the odds against me rather than from Your infallible words and precious promises.

I repent!

Please restore all my dreams and youthful aspirations. And as I dare to charge ahead basing my every move on Your word at the face of the obvious odds, please cause supernatural ways to appear before me even where there seems to be none. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
