1 Cor. 1:26 (KJV) For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called
The first problem with the guy who buried his talent is that he felt inadequate, grossly disadvantaged and deprived, as though he was missing out on something. He felt like he didn’t have what it takes.
If you looked qualified for your assignment
The day God ‘called’ you…
Go listen again!
Chances are that you didn’t hear well
If you ever did at all…
If you felt equipped for your life’s vision
The day you dreamed,
Go back to bed!
You sure haven’t seen well!
If the pathway to your destiny doesn’t look vague
At first sight,
Go get directions again-
You are obviously out of course…
If authorities do not reject your ideas
And friends and family don’t despise your aspirations
Go think again-
You definitely have missed the point
For even Jesus had no semblance of THE KING at birth
-Born poor in a manger
-Rejected by authorities
-Perceived possessed by the people
-Perceived insane by family and friends
YET He never doubted the realism of His calling
For the Lord delights in little beginnings…
And loves to bring something out of nothing
Always using foolish things to confound the wise
That He might be the Doer at the end!
Lord, at those times when I feel grossly disadvantaged, and totally unqualified for my assignment, please help me to remember that it is my faithfulness which matters to You and not my ability
For those You will You call, and those You call, You equip and qualify for Your glory. Amen
