Eccl. 10:15 (GW) Fools wear themselves out with hard work, because they don’t even know the way to town.
As we set out in pursuit of our aspirations for this new year, it is important to understand that we are not all cut out to labour on everything nor the same things in life.
On the contrary, only few specific things are relevant to the destiny of each individual.
Pareto Principle taught us to streamline everything we ‘spend’ our scarce resources of time, money and energy on into two categories:
The Trivial Many and The Vital Few.
When we stop ‘spending’ our lives on the trivial many at the expense of the vital few, we get on the cutting edge.
Likewise, when we get our priorities straight and begin investing in relevant things diligently, we start commanding the world’s attention.
That is the kind of diligence which makes a man to bear the rule, and to stand before kings and not before mere men…
Have you seen a man who is expert in his business? he will take his place before kings; his place will not be among low persons. Prov. 22:29 (BBE)
Lord, it’s high time my effort got me noticed in strategic places. It’s high time my diligence brought me to limelight. Please help me to stop ‘majoring’ on the ‘minors’ of life. Rather, help me to discover the few things that are vital to my destiny so that I can build my life around them. Amen.
